Cos'è il Buddy system?
Il Buddy system, consiste nel sostenere e aiutare gli studenti americani del programma USAC, dall’arrivo a Verona e per tutto il periodo di permanenza.
Chi è un Buddy?
Un Buddy è uno studente IUSVE, disponibile a fare da tutor ad uno o più studenti americani del programma USAC, aiutandoli, nel loro tempo libero, ad integrarsi nella vita universitaria. Il Buddy aiuta gli studenti americani arrivati a Verona a familiarizzare con i servizi, la vita cittadina e l’intero contesto sociale e culturale. Aiuta inoltre lo Staff USAC, nell’organizzazione e nella gestione delle varie attività.
Chi può partecipare?
Possono partecipare tutti gli studenti iscritti allo IUSVE. Non importa sapere l’inglese alla perfezione, basta solo tanto entusiasmo, spirito d’iniziativa e voglia di fare.
Cosa deve fare uno studente IUSVE per diventare un Buddy?
Per diventare un Buddy, lo studente interessato dovrà compilare il form, successivamente lo studente IUSVE, sarà contattato dall’ufficio USAC ed invitato a partecipare ad una riunione informativa insieme agli altri Buddies.
L'attività è retribuita?
No, è un’opportunità di interazione sociale fra studenti italiani e americani, per arricchire e favorire la crescita personale a titolo volontario.
Il Buddy deve rispettare gli impegni presi?
Sì, compatibilmente con gli impegni di studio e/o lavoro, i Buddies dovranno essere disponibili in base agli impegni presi. Il Buddy rappresenta un punto di riferimento per gli studenti USAC che arrivano a Verona, per cui ci si aspetta entusiasmo, affidabilità, spirito di accoglienza e voglia di fare nuove amicizie.
Cosa deve fare il Buddy?
Il Buddy, dovrà collaborare con lo staff USAC durante l’arrivo dei nuovi gruppi, aiutare a spiegare le attività quotidiane che lo studente dovrà svolgere, interagire con i ragazzi, distribuire il materiale informativo, etc. Dovrà inoltre aiutare e accompagnare lo studente incoming in situazioni particolari come: dal dottore, in posta, etc. Questo servizio verrà svolto quando richiesto dallo studente Americano o dallo Staff USAC.

What is a Buddy?
The Buddy System helps USAC students settle in when they arrive in Verona and throughout their entire stay in the city.
Who is a Buddy?
A Buddy is a IUSVE Student, who has agreed to be a tutor for one or more USAC students. The Buddy will help students integrate into the Italian University life and become familiar with the city and culture. The Buddy will also help the USAC Verona Staff organize events and activities.
Who can partecipate?
All the IUSVE students can participate. English is not required, just a lot of enthusiasm, sense of initiative and positivity.
How can you become a Buddy?
To become a Buddy, you must fill out a form in the designated area on the IUSVE official website. You will then be contacted by the USAC Office and invited to a briefing with other Buddies.
Will you make money as a Buddy?
No, this is a great volunteer opportunity to interact with American students and to grow personally.
Do you have to respect your commitments as a Buddy?
Yes, according to your originally stated availability. As a Buddy, you must represent a point of reference for the USAC students. We expect enthusiastic, welcoming, reliable people, that are not afraid to meet new people and make new friends.
What will you do?
You will work together with other Buddies and the USAC Verona Staff during the arrival of the new group. You will help explain different activities, distribute informational material, interact with the students, etc... If necessary you may also be requested to accompany students, for example, to the doctor, Post Office, bank, etc.
