L’esplorazione urbana è un’attività che permette di conoscere piccole meraviglie nascoste e in decadimento, lasciate in balia del tempo e degli agenti atmosferici, sul nostro territorio e all’estero. La tesi vuole esaltare il bagaglio estetico e comunicativo di questi luoghi, ricostruendone la storia, evidenziandone gli aspetti artistici e proponendo esempi concreti del loro utilizzo e valorizzazione. In modo particolare, la tesi vuole sottolineare come questi luoghi possano divenire degli strumenti di sensibilizzazione, dei veri e propri “luoghi della memoria”, riguardo ad argomenti importanti per la società. Nello specifico, il testo prenderà in esame come le strutture abbandonate degli Ospedali Psichiatrici possano essere oggi riutilizzate per denunciare la violazione dei diritti umani avvenuti all’interno di esse, argomento che ancora oggi rimane un tabù per la popolazione.
Urban exploration is an activity that allows you to discover little, hidden and wonderful decaying objects, which were left at the mercy of time and atmospheric agents in our territory and abroad. The following thesis aims to enhance the aesthetic and communicative background of these places by recreating the history, highlighting the artistic aspects and offering real life examples about their use and their enhancement. Particularly, this thesis wants to underline the way these places can become awareness’ means, real “memory’s places” regarding important aspects for the society. Specifically, the text will examine how asylums’ abandoned structures can now be used to report the violation of human rights that took place within these buildings, topic that nowadays is still a taboo for the population.
