La tesi analizza il teen drama norvegese Skam, che dal 2015, anno della sua pubblicazione, si è imposto nel panorama internazionale, rappresentando un punto di svolta nel genere e offrendo spunti interessanti per la produzione futura. Si tratta di un unicum nella storia del teen drama, padroneggiato da serie americane, con caratteristiche codificate. Per capirne l’inaspettato successo, si è analizzato ogni aspetto della serie, individuando gli elementi innovativi e confrontandola con le precedenti produzioni nel genere di appartenenza. L’analisi individua gli aspetti chiave alla base del successo nel format transmediale “in tempo reale” e in un’accurata ricerca e produzione, confluite nella rappresentazione autentica e meno filtrata possibile degli adolescenti.
The thesis analyses the Norwegian teen drama Skam, which, since 2015, the year of its publication, has established itself on the international scene, representing a turning point in the genre and offering interesting inspiration for future production. It represents a unicum in the history of teen drama, mastered by American series with coded features. To understand its unexpected success, every aspect of the series was analysed, identifying the innovative elements and comparing it with previous productions in the genre to which it belongs. The analysis identifies the success in the "real-time" transmedia format and in accurate research and production, merged together to create an authentic and unfiltered representation of teenagers.
